“The world you are comfortable living in and leaving behind is the one you are bold enough to create.” This conviction has been the guiding principle behind my work in human capacity development and advocacy. For over a decade, I have been deeply committed to empowering young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and interconnected world. My mission has always been to unlock human potential, catalyze innovation, and create pathways for the next generation of tech leaders.
In 2024, I had the distinct honor of participating in a high-level panel discussion alongside global leaders such as Kurt Campbell, US Deputy Secretary of State; Virginia Palmer, US Ambassador to Ghana; Kitty Andang, Acting Mission Director for USAID West Africa; Molly Phee, Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of African Affairs; Richard Michaels; Grace Pringles; and Professor Samuel Bonsu, Rector of GIMPA. The gathering was an extraordinary opportunity to advocate for human capital as the foundation for Africa’s technological and economic advancement.
Throughout the discussion, I emphasized the importance of building ecosystems where young Africans are not only equipped with technical skills but also empowered to transform ideas into real-world solutions. We explored critical opportunities in areas such as health technology, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making, highlighting how strategic investment in human capacity can drive sustainable growth. A moment of recognition came when the Acting Mission Director acknowledged my response to a question posed by the Secretary General, affirming the relevance of my perspective on nurturing African talent.
For the young innovators, digital pioneers, and future leaders reading this: your role is pivotal. The challenges we face today—whether technological, social, or environmental—require bold, creative, and human-centered solutions. Lean into your potential, embrace learning and iteration, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. The future isn’t handed to us; it is shaped by those courageous enough to lead.
I extend my deepest gratitude to the Project Director of YALI RLC West Africa in Accra and the entire team for creating a platform that highlights the power of human capital and advocacy. It is through these meaningful collaborations that we collectively build the Africa—and the world—we envision.
